For one repeated size. The count is a simple grid: columns × rows, with kerf between parts.

Grid, not a nest

This does not rearrange mixed sizes or use L-shaped leftovers. It only tiles one rectangle. Mixed lists belong in CutPilot.

Kerf between parts

Columns fit when n × part + (n − 1) × kerf ≤ sheet. A 3 mm kerf can drop a whole column versus a zero-kerf guess.

Worked example

400 × 300 parts on 2440 × 1220 with 3 mm kerf. As-is vs rotated — the calculator keeps the orientation that fits more.

Questions

Why is this different from the optimiser?

The optimiser packs many different parts. This page answers “how many of this one size fit on one sheet?”
