Most UK plywood searches name this size. The fields stay at 2440 × 1220 so the nest matches the sheet you can actually buy.

Grain along 2440
Face grain usually runs the long way. Rotation stays off. A 1200 × 600 top half will not turn into 600 × 1200 unless you allow it.
Worked example
Two 1200 × 600 top halves, four 1200 × 100 aprons and two 800 × 400 shelves. One 2440 × 1220, grain fixed.
Questions
Is 2440 × 1220 exactly 8 × 4 ft?
It is the metric equivalent merchants sell. True 96 × 48 in is slightly different. Use the 4 × 8 page for inch stock.
